This 100% pure Michigan maple syrup is produced yearly by volunteers at the Shepherd Sugar Bush Corporation in Shepherd, Michigan. The Syrup is made for the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival and is sold throughout the year. All of the syrup is naturally produced with state of the art equipment by local volunteers. The sap is gathered from the trees within the village and its surrounding area, while all of the proceeds are used to fund the communitys recreational projects (ie; parks, youth sports, etc). Nobody gets paid for any of their labor as our "pay" comes from the benefits our village receives from the festivals proceeds.
Description on Bottle Label:
We hope you enjoy this famous Shepherd Maple Syrup. It all started in 1958 as a volunteer project with the plan to have the proceeds fund recreational activities in our community. It has grown from a pancake supper into a 3-day festival. All of the labor it takes to make and serve the syrup, candy, pancakes and sausage for the festival is donated by volunteers from our area. Please come join us at our Maple Syrup Festival, which is held annually during the last full weekend of April.
