We have a lot of essential oils in our edens garden library and because so many of them are overflowing with benefits, distinguishing between oils can get a little tricky. The thing to remember about French lavender, as opposed to our main lavender and spike lavender, is that it possesses a higher ester content because its cultivated at a very high altitude. The ester makes it especially effective for skin issues and relieving headaches. French lavender also has its own unique aroma full of floral, sweet and winsome notes. For thousands of years, the lavender plant has been used by a variety of cultures to help an array of health and emotional issues. The ancient greeks used lavender for throat infections and constipation. European herbalists used it in hydrosol form as a head lice therapy (still used today). When king tutankhamen's tomb was opened in 1923, archaeologist found lavender inside. It was also used during Egyptian mummification process. Lavender is of the highest quality and aroma when it is cultivated at a high altitude. During the steam distillation process, the lavender is kept at a high altitude because the temperatures can remain low. The lower the steams temperature, the finer the essential oil will be. Edens garden goes to great lengths to ensure that all of lavenders are grown at a high altitude so we can deliver the very best to you.Botanical name: Lavandula angustifolia variety: French fine high altitude origin: France extraction method: Steam distillation plant part: Flowers note: Middle top family: Lamiaceae blends well with: Geranium, and other florals aroma: Flowery, sweet, clean, rounded, and slightly herbaceous consistency: Thin color: Clear **euro droppers are not included with 100 ml bottles**safety: Follow general dilution guidelines no urgent safety issues shelf life: 4 years.
